El Puente's installation titled Mind Your Busine$$ is a collaborative installation examining youth culture, fashion and labor. El Puente Academy for Peace and Justice is a youth development center and public high school in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, that integrates art education into the students' curriculum through community-based, year-long projects. This yearŐs project focuses on the garment industry and sweatshops. The installation presents an accumulation of projects in various media by students led by El Puente facilitators and resident artists, including Danny Hoch, working with Adjoa Jones De Almeida (English Facilitator), Joe Matunis, Josh Merrow and Patricia Montoya.

Under the direction of facilitators, the students worked on several projects, including: hand-painted playing cards; a documentary examining the garment industry, which includes interviews with garment workers and investigative footage of conditions in sweatshops; performances of monologues written by the students relating to youth culture fashion; and personalized bikes made from recycled materials.

Danny Hoch, El Puente Visiting Artist, is an Obie Award-winning writer and performer who recently presented his highly acclaimed solo show, Jails, Hospitals & Hip-Hop.

Joe Matunis, El Puente Arts Facilitator and founding member of the El Puente Academy for Peace and Justice, is a muralist who has directed large-scale mural projects in England, Scotland, India, and throughout the United States, and is currently completing a comic book called Cupidity.

Patricia Montoya, El Puente Video Facilitator, is a video-maker from Colombia and has screened her work at the Latin American Film and Video Festival in Toronto, Canada and the Gay and Lesbian Festival in New York City. She has also curated the Images Festival in Toronto, Canada.
