The collaborative
duo of Walter Martin and Paloma Muņoz present an exhibition titled "Dis",
of works which parody the Disney product line. In an ironic twist, the
pair treat the not-for-profit space as if it were a booth at a trade fair,
introducing a new line of Disney products. These include: "Disney
Lites", "Disney Vodka", "Disney Ale", "Minniepax
Tampons", "King Donald Cigars", and "Disdoms". In an effort
to expand Disney's adult market, these proposed products broaden Disney's
appeal. By entering adult zones of enterprise, the artists create a continuum
along which one may age and develop without ever saying goodbye to childhood.
Besides a boutique-style display of new products, the artists offer a
computerized "powerpoint" boardroom presentation of the new
line and wallpaper depicting the new products in traditional Disney colors. |
