OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS & CURATORS: Deadline July 1, 2015
OPEN CALL FOR CRITICAL WRITERS: Deadline July 15, 2015
Momenta Art is pleased to announce our new endeavor, Open Call for Critical Writers 2015.
Beginning this year, Momenta Art’s annual catalog is expanding! In addition to the documentation of our programs and press writing, our forthcoming annual publication will include a variety of thoughts and visual presentations inspired by our programs as integral parts of its collaborative outcome between artists, organizers, and audience.
For the deadline of July 15th, 2015, we solicit writing that is inspired by our programs during September 2014 – June 2015. The exhibitions and public events in this period include Any Size Mirror is a Dictator, The New York Times Feminist Reading Group, Work it Out, Frames of War, and a solo exhibition, Moldy Figs by Justin Randolph Thompson (forthcoming). Please take a look at our website for further details:
Reviews of our exhibitions or events in a traditional sense are welcome, but we also encourage cross-disciplinary approaches that expand and engage with the themes explored by artists and other participants through our programs, possibly addressing broader socio-political phenomena of the year.
Our annual catalog FY2014-15 will be published both in print and digital format in August 2015, and the publication will be accompanied with a launch party accommodating artists’ and writers’ presentations. A small honorarium will be provided for selected writers for the publication.
-Please submit writing under 5,000 words with a 150-word abstract of your writing.
-Please format your writing in the Chicago Manual of Style. You may reference to any of these websites:
-Writing that is accompanied with visual and sound materials, including image, podcast, video, website, etc, is welcome. Please provide full captions with your supplemental visual and sound materials, including any courtesy lines, using the format:
artist’s name, title of work, date, media, dimensions, collection (or place of exhibition), photo credit.
Please e-mail your submission to email@example.com, with the subject line, “Open Call for Critical Writers 2015” by July 15, 2015.
For inquiries, please e-mail to Kikuko at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do not e-mail inquiries to proposal e-mail. We do not often check “proposals” account until the date of the deadline.
We are in the process of organizing a peer review committee. As we determine the selection process, we’ll update this website. Please check back on this website for further information.
We look forward to learning of your thoughtful and provocative ideas!
