Akiko Ichikawa employs cheap construction materials to create "show-specific" sculptural environments and wall drawings. Ichikawa's work interacts with the architectural characteristics of a given space, the viewer's perception-as-ground-in-the-body, and, at times, with other artwork.

For Momenta, Ichikawa presented another installment of her (Dis)mantle Building Set series, a playful body of work which hinges on the idea of units, modularity, and seemingly limitless reproducibility.
