What is another name given to time when it is compacted so densely that it connotes only death? One calls this a picture. This is a show about pictures. Gotcha! specifically addresses pictures as the accumulative weight of time gone flat, focusing on the victim status we attain in relation to pictures as its subject and its viewer.

Think snapshots - random shots taken with a camera for the purpose of capturing a particular moment as a picture. This moment becomes instant forever. Now think yourself caught in that snap. Flash - gotcha! Frozen in time as the proxy of desire"s victim. One is left to exist as a slice of reality marking time for those who were there to witness the spectacular moment and for those who would like to retain its image.

Our bodies are commodities we consume in this area of display. Click, FLASH!... hardened like a diamond but without the wait, anonymousness and incongruity become our nature. We wait passively for that special someone to take us home and give us our name. "This person in the picture smiling with the hat, I'll call him...and that woman with the black dress, I'll call her..." It does not matter what nor who, it is the picture that counts here. It is the picture that will be here after we are gone.
